Gaming fans, the wait is finally over! After years of speculation, Nintendo officially announced the release of its next-generation console, the Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch in 2025.
In a sleek promotional video, the new console made its debut, boasting a larger design that retains the signature handheld-to-TV hybrid concept of its predecessor. A noticeable update? The system’s Joy-Con controllers now attach to the sides of the main unit instead of sliding in, offering a fresh twist to its iconic design.
Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch 2 will support a mix of exclusive games alongside most physical and digital titles from the original Switch library. However, some older games may not be fully compatible with the new system.
