Navy Obliterates Smuggling Ring in Fuel Bust

In a decisive blow to cross-border fuel smuggling, personnel of Forward Operating Base (FOB) IBAKA, under the ongoing Operation DELTA SANITY, successfully intercepted and impounded a wooden boat transporting illegally refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

The interception occurred during a routine maritime patrol in Nigeria’s southeastern waters. The wooden vessel, heavily laden with drums of the contraband product, was en route to the Republic of Cameroon when it was halted by vigilant naval forces.

The operation reflects the Nigerian Navy’s unwavering commitment to curbing economic sabotage, protecting the nation’s territorial integrity, and dismantling illegal oil trade routes in the Gulf of Guinea.
